Jake Barbour Is President of JBI, which is a full-service earthworks contractor based in the mid-coast area.  He is also the Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Rockland. Jake has done many things for the community over the years with monetary and “In Kind” assistance. During the past year, Jake volunteered his time, equipment, and personnel to excavate and prep the site for the Rockland Rotary All-Inclusive Playground and pavilion. He donated gravel for the pathways leading to the playground and pavilion to make it handicap accessible.  At the MacDougal Park, Jake planted trees and shrubs around the perimeter and filled in low spots to prevent “ponding”. Among other numerous commercial and municipal projects, Jake assisted with the new beach access at Rockland Breakwater. Jake’s commitment to improving our community is evident by his generous contributions.  Rockland Rotary is proud to honor Jake with their prestigious Community Person of the Year 2025 Award.
